The course is based on early church Fathers (Evagrius and Gregory the Great) and 21st century popular writings on spiritual formation.
Content:
The course is accomplished in small groups of 3-6 persons. The small groups take students into areas that are forbidden to discuss in public so strict adherence to exclusive gender groups is mandatory. The methodology as well as the content are important. The goal is to create a safe place to develop 3 core elements needed for Christian spiritual formation. They are a community of trust, a community of vulnerability, and a community of accountability.
