Overview:
Not all Arab Christians were in agreement—Christianity in Arabia was marked byintense theological disputes. What were these different sects? On what issues did they disagree? And how did these divisions shape the region?
Content:

In this episode, the author explores the theological conflicts among early Arab
Christians, particularly between those who upheld the doctrine of the Trinity and groups
like the Ebionites and Arians, who rejected the doctrine of the Trinity. This episode also
examines how this division influenced society, leading to competition between the
Kaaba in Mecca and the Kaaba of Qalis in Sana’a.
Additionally, this video dives into the Year of the Elephant and the campaign of Abraha
al-Ashram, who sought to divert pilgrimage from Mecca to his grand church in Yemen,
attempting to enforce Trinitarian Christianity in the region. But was the Kaaba in Mecca
truly a pagan temple at the time, or is there historical evidence suggesting it was a
Christian place of worship?
Join the author in this episode as we re-examine history and uncover the theological
disputes that played a role in shaping the religious identity of the Middle East.
